All the YBC divisions are based on bowlers averages which also set a relevant handicap for the bowlers.
Divisions are set as follows:
Premier: 150 average and above
Division 1: 130 to 149 average
Division 2: 121 to 129 average
Division 3: 110 to 120 average
Division 4: 80 to 99 average
Division 5: 50 to 79 average
The handicaps are calculated by first deducting the bowlers average from 200, the handicap is then 75% of this figure, for example if a bowler has an average of 160 the the handicap would be as follows:
200 - 160 = 40
then 40 x 75% = 30
This particular bowler would have a handicap of 30. This means that 30 pins will be added to each game to give them an overall handicap game score. E.g. this bowler has a scratch score of 158 in their first game, this means the handicap game score will be 188.
